We’re adding insulation to the attic today. I say “we” loosely because I’m sitting here writing while Steve adds insulation to the attic. Taylor pulled the bales into the house.
T: How long is this going to take?
Me: I don’t know.
T: Oh. <pause> I was wondering if I could hang out with Laura today.
Me: Oh. <pause> If you bring all of the bales in now you can hang with Laura. Here or at her house? (please, her house, this house has 17 bales of insulation spread out in the kitching and diningroom)
T. Well, she wants to know if I can go skiing.
Me: Down hill? (I know the answer, I’m stalling)
T: Ya
Me: Sure. There’s one problem. You don’t ski.
T: I’ll take my snowboard.
Me: Sure. There’s one problem. You don’t snowboard THAT well.
T: Laura will rent a board and be with me. (Awesome! Two non-snowboarding girls tumbling down Mt Jefferson sounds like the best idea I’ve ever heard. Or not.)
Me: I’m a little concerned about this.
T: That I’ll wipe out? Continue Reading »

Do you know what kind of track this is? (Kirk - I know you know. No telling!) This was taken December 30 when we went to the mountain.

Steve had to work up north today so I went along. He knew I was going through photography withdrawal so he took me to the mountain. I can’t explain the pull the mountain has on me. When he said we’d go I got excited. As we got closer I got tingly. My heart beats faster when I get a glimpse and know there’s more to come. I love the area.

A word of caution to anyone considering linking to one of my photos: Statistics show me where you’ve used my photo by linking directly to my website. If you do this I’m going to change the photo to something that might embarrass you. You get no warning or polite note asking you to please, kindly, pretty please don’t do that. You already know it’s not nice and it uses up the bandwidth I pay for yadda yadda yadda. It might be just a simple graphic letting everyone know you’re BUSTED! or an embarrassing photo of some sort.
I share well. If you’d like to use a photo you can right click and save it to your own hard drive. Then upload it to your own domain or Flickr or some such place. It’s ok. I don’t mind. If you’d like a good quality picture feel free to email and ask for it. I don’t mind. I’ll send it to you in its original state - unresized, full colors and yours to use as long as you don’t put your name on it and pass it off as your own. Steve caught someone doing that at a fund raiser last month. BUSTED! She printed and framed the photo and passed it off as her own.
I don’t use my best photos here. If I don’t want them out in the world you won’t see them here or on my website. Just please don’t link directly to my photos.

Let’s finish up Icy Monday with more pictures.
Moon rise over the pasture.

The clear sky is a beautiful background for icy branches and the moon.

Setting sun. The lot across the road was cleared in order to make a pasture. It was with good intentions but probably isn’t going to happen. We often see moose and deer there.

Friend Connie sent me the link to the Animal Rescue site. Each time you click on the site a sponsor contributes to the upkeep of rescued animals. The number of clicks have dropped in the last two years. They could use your help. All it takes is one click a day.
